Tracking down paper rosters from instructors
About
Built from the real work of law enforcement training coordination.
BlueTrack360 was started by Jay and Dannielle Coburn after seeing how much time, pressure, and uncertainty paper rosters and scattered records can create for training staff.
Origin story
A product shaped by firsthand training office experience.
Dannielle is a Police Training Coordinator with a large police department in the Treasure Valley of Idaho. In that role, she directly experienced the problems BlueTrack360 is designed to solve: late or missing rosters, hard-to-read handwriting, incomplete attendee information, scattered documents, and records that had to be reconstructed when deadlines or requests came due.
Jay saw the impact those processes had. Dannielle was capable, committed, and proud of her work, but the available tools did not match the complexity of law enforcement training records. Too much time was being spent chasing information, interpreting partial records, and trying to feel confident that the final answer was complete.
The first version of BlueTrack360 was not built as a commercial product. It was built by a husband trying to make his wife's work life easier. As the tool improved and Dannielle's team began using it, the value became clear. Others started asking how they could use it too.
The problem
Training records are too important for fragile processes.
Law enforcement agencies need accurate training history for compliance review, internal decisions, subpoenas, public records requests, and command staff questions. Yet many training offices are still left piecing together information from paper rosters, spreadsheets, emails, and file folders.
Interpreting handwriting, nicknames, and incomplete names
Researching attendance weeks after a class ended
Searching across spreadsheets, folders, emails, and partial records
Responding to POST, internal, or public records requests under pressure
Spending time on administrative cleanup instead of training coordination
From internal tool to platform
Rebuilt deliberately for agency use.
The original version helped improve recurring problems around training rosters, attendance capture, and record organization. But it was still a practical internal solution, not a secure, scalable SaaS platform designed for broader agency use.
That realization led Jay and Dannielle to start AstraVia LLC, with BlueTrack360 as its first product. After months of discussion, research, and planning, they chose to rebuild the platform from the ground up with professional application development support and a modern cloud foundation.
The goal was not to repackage a quick prototype. It was to build a product with security, reliability, simplicity, and long-term maintainability in mind, while keeping the day-to-day experience straightforward for coordinators, instructors, and officers.
Product commitments
Practical software for real training records work.
Built from a real training office problem
BlueTrack360 began as a practical answer to recurring roster, attendance, and recordkeeping problems experienced inside a law enforcement training environment.
Rebuilt for broader agency use
The early internal tool proved useful, but Jay and Dannielle knew it needed a professional rebuild to support multiple agencies, secure access, and long-term reliability.
Simple to use, robust behind the scenes
The platform is designed to keep check-in simple for instructors and officers while giving coordinators better tools for records, documents, review, and reporting.
Mission
A better way to maintain officer training history.
BlueTrack360 exists because law enforcement training records are too important to be managed through disconnected, fragile processes. Training coordinators should not have to rely on paper rosters, scattered spreadsheets, hard-to-read handwriting, and last-minute record chasing to maintain something as important as officer training history.
BlueTrack360 is designed to help agencies
- Capture attendance accurately
- Track officer training history
- Preserve supporting documents
- Monitor instructor participation
- Identify missing or incomplete records
- Respond to audits and records requests with greater confidence
BlueTrack360 is being built to help agencies spend less time reconstructing records and more time trusting the training history in front of them.
